AIC General Contractors Celebrates 20 Years of Building New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A commitment to “always provide the highest value solution possible” launched AIC General Contractor Inc. in March of 2000. Twenty years later, the company’s process of high quality analysis, innovation, and construction has allowed it to consistently deliver on that promise to countless satisfied clients that are growing Albuquerque’s business community.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all philosophy, AIC President David Shaffer said his company takes tremendous pride in carefully evaluating each individual project from a macro and micro view.
“We look at things as individual projects and figure out the best way to get them done in our clients’ timeframe and budget,” Shaffer said. “Each one is unique and we apply our proven process and hands-on approach to them to make them successful. Each project receives this attention to detail”
Shaffer said maintaining a personal touch is a priority for the company.
“We don’t chase work all over New Mexico just to get a job,” he said. “We focus on what’s right for us and our repeat clients so that we can be responsive, on time, and provide the quality product that they expect.”
In 2019, that focus led to a slew of accolades for AIC, including four NAOIP Commercial Real Estate Development Association awards, top honors from the National Philanthropy Society naming AIC the most philanthropic small business in New Mexico, something that they are extremely proud of, Shaffer earning Top Construction CEO honors in the Albuquerque Journal, and a top-10 ranking among national gym contractors for projects with Orangetheory Fitness, Barre-3, Lovelace rehabilitation clinics, Psychosomatic Fitness and Anytime Fitness, among others.
Looking ahead to the future, Shaffer said consistency and retention will continue to guide AIC.
“Our repeat clients are everything to us and we want to focus on making sure that they can count on us for whatever their needs are,” he said. “Of course, we will still be looking at new clients daily, as the market is changing rapidly in New Mexico and there is a growing number of new building owners who may benefit from our caliber of industry partnership.”
