Bourbon and Boots

NAIOP Award Winner

Situated in downtown Albuquerque, Bourbon and Boots took over a failed night club space that was poorly built out and the previous contractor had damaged the majority of the infrastructure as well as installed extremely poor-quality finishes. The owners of B&B, noted that the one type of available amenity to the downtown night life was a country and western bar and envisioned their dream to take place in the corner space in the heart of the city. Working on a tight budget and developing focus on the bar and stage areas, this project was successfully opened in time for Thanksgiving Day weekend, a popular time for the bar and service industry.

The new layout and design took in to account the large open area for a dance floor and the bar itself is a spectacular custom wood centerpiece that harkens back to an old west “Saloon” feel. Each section of the bar was custom made to allow for modern equipment to be hidden within and to hide as much of it as possible. It was installed in an “assembly line” fashion to allow for this. The seating area was designed to double up as a “event space” for sporting and other events thereby creating additional uses and flexibility.  Having 3,500 sqft to work with was a challenge in these areas.

To create visual appeal, new window line granite tops were installed along central avenue and 5th street was converted to an outdoor seating area to expand capacity and to provide a pleasant outdoor experience for the summer months.
